The site within the park has been chosen for the pair currently residing at Edinburgh.
The plan was to bring them in around now or next spring, but this has been put back, due to the work involved with the polar bear and Amur tiger enclosures.

BBC News - Leopards expected at park in 2010

Great news Kiang. It will be great to see the leopards wandering around their little patch of the Caingormes - Next best thing to the Amur Valley really! :)

Couldn't agree more Riziki, i am just wondering whereabouts in the park they have them planned for.
The only real sizeable portion of land available in the walk round area, is above the markhor and goral enclosures, running down to the snowy owl and Arctic fox enclosure.

In my opinion the Rockier the better really but seeing what they have done with the Amur Tigers and with Mecedes im sure it will be great.

In the article it said about the park coming under criticism "following the deaths of japanese macaques"...would anyone care to quickly enlighten me as seem to have missed this snippet of news.

Is it wooded at all? Ideally I would like to see them in an area with some birch/pine trees or scrub in it to approximate the wild environment.

Speaking to some of the keepers early last year when I was up, it was thought they might build this beside the Amur Tigers, alongside the boardwalk where the Otter enclosure was however that is not particularly a huge area unless it stretches down towards the Main building

Hi Benn, I spoke with our head keeper at Highland Wildlife Park, and he said that work on the leopard enclosure will be most likely to start in 2011, barring of course a large donation from a very generous donor! :) He said that they have picked out a site for the enclosure and envision a flexible enclosure of 3 units connected by overhead tunnels. Hope that answers your question!
