I guess Animal Adventures is "zoochat certified". I'll have to add it to my list of zoos I've visited (meaning I've visited 50 zoological facilities in total).

Zoo chat does not, and has never, "certified" zoos. If by that you mean it's been discussed on zoochat, sure, but also discussed on zoochat have been facilities with a collection consisting of two Guinea Pigs and a corn snake. If by that you mean that "zoochat certified" means a zoo is of a certain quality, than absolutely not, as multiple members who have visited Animal Adventures have documented the fact its amongst the worst in the country. So if you want to visit because it's amongst the worst zoos in the country and you want that "roadside zoo experience", I won't condone that but have it, but if you want to visit because it's "zoochat certified", whatever that means, then don't, because zoochat doesn't "certify" zoos as okay to visit.

I think by ZooChat certified MurphyFox might mean an animal exhibiting facility that has more than 10 animals rather than, for example, a nature center that just have a couple of live snakes (which is what one user who shall not be referred here included in his definition of a zoo resulting in a ridiculously inflated visited zoos list). And advisory against visiting Animal Adventures wouldn’t work since MF already said that they visited it in his post.

But yea @MurphyFox I’ll echo what others said and say that there is no such thing as “zoo chat certified” zoo

I know.

It's just that since it's been posted about on ZooChat that means my visit to it counts for my total zoo portfolio.

Yeah, it's a judgement call sometimes. But this place seems to pretty obviously be a zoo, no?

For me it was more of a "rescue center", especially since a lot of the exhibits were temporary and I wasn't sure about USDA certification (it's basically someone's house. I still thoroughly enjoyed it though).

Is a rescue center not a zoo?

I guess it depends how you count it. I used to not count them and thought they were more of "sanctuaries" but have now added the rescue centers I've been to to my list (After visiting the British Wildlife Centre, I figured I could count it and the other ones).

Is a rescue center not a zoo?
I'd also ask if to qualify as a "rescue center" a facility needs a higher level of care than wherever the animals originated, which in this case I'd be extremely surprised if that's true.

I'd also be extremely surprised if all the animals in the collection are truly "rescues". There are too many rarities that I'd highly doubt show up as "rescues" very often for me to belive this facility rescues all its animals.
