animal rights group get caught out

Ouch!

I'm not sure if ASPCA are akin to the UK's RSPCA or the appeal aspects of the US legal system but I'd imagine someone at ASPCA has some very serious questions to answer (about both the organisation's moral code/ethics and the serious loss of funds) to the donors whose money they've wasted -think of the good that could have been done with those funds!
 
The ASPCA does alot of good protecting dogs and cats from being killed and trying to adopt them out. But even if there was solid evidence that ringling has mistreated elephants they had to go pay someone to testify even though they probably would have won the case. I believe they should better spend there money on other matters that are more important instead of spending millions in legal fees. Ringling may use a bullhook to control it's animals but many zoos used to use bullhooks up until recently. Also ringling has bred over 20 animals in the last 20 years and two thirds of its elephants live in a large breeding and retirement facility.
 
I hope this gets widely publicized and people start to realize these animal rights groups are not all they claim to be.

Last summer I spent half a day with the director of a small exotic animal facility (that donates a lot to field conservation). He said he went to a court hearing (somewhere in California) and an extremist who was against them blatantly lied to the legislators at the hearing. When he approached her outside afterwards and asked her why she lied, her response was something like "I don't care - I will do whatever it takes to further my agenda."
