The September 2010 issue of ZooNooz has an introduction from the president of the board detailing some major name changes for the organization. Let's see if we can keep track.

The original facility, the San Diego Zoo, will thankfully still be known as San Diego Zoo. So far, so good.

All other entities will have their name changed to include the above name, since that is the one everyone around the world knows.

The umbrella organization that runs all of their facilities and ventures has always been known as Zoological Society of San Diego. From now on, it will be known as San Diego Zoo Global.

The San Diego Wild Animal Park, which in recent years was changed to San Diego Zoo's Wild Animal Park, will now be known as San Diego Zoo Safari Park.

Their research branch was know as CRES. Originally this was Center for Reproduction of Endangered Species, although in recent years it was different words that still start with the letters CRES (I forget the latest words). This entity is not specifically mentioned in the article, but if I read it correctly, he seems to imply that this will also be known as San Diego Zoo Global? Perhaps a local can clear things up.

Thank you. If I had read past the first page of the magazine, I would have found it. On the next page the CEO's message lays it out. He also shows the new logos they are using for the zoo and safari park. They are very simple - just the names with no pictures - although the word "zoo" in both slightly resemles a paw print.
