App.Net invites

hmm, this is the sort of post I'd normally report as spam....I am so confused :p

I assumed it is some sort of collection device for catching apples as they fall out of the trees?

App.Net is an advert-free social network built to be a better version of Twitter.

The network is rapidly gaining in popularity, previously you had to pay to be a member, now they have a free account for which you need to have an invite from an existing paying member to be able to sign up for (to prevent bots and abuse).

My doctor gave me something to prevent bots.

But you're right about the rest of it - I don't even twit so I guess I wouldn't be interested.

:D You guys are actually wrong on this count. I have never heard of a social network that you have to pay to join that wasn't **** or dating related. I'll take a pass. :) I think a bot is posting on Sim's behalf.

The best thing out of NZ these days, by the way, is Kim Dotcom. ;)
