I'm surprised by the style of these types of newly built facilities, because they're very different from those being built in Europe or USA: in these countries, the enclosures are getting bigger and more natural, they try to simulate the habitat of animals , but in Japan the facilities are very small and artificial. I can understand this in the past, but not now...

It is odd, but I don't want to pin it on all Japanese aquariums. Oarai actually has top-notch care for their animals, and this is a baffling decision, their old exhibits were far better than this.
