The latest temporary exhibit (Swampland) is due to be dismantled beginning in January, and then a new exhibit opens in May.

Copied and pasted from the aquarium's website:

After Swampland closes, the Aquarium will begin construction of The Sea and Me, opening Memorial Day weekend, 2012. The Sea and Me will be an interactive family adventure spotlighting four facets of the ocean; research, fishing, recreation and culture. Live animal encounters and interactive components will show the human connection to the ocean; how we interact with it and why we should learn and care about it.

The "Sea and Me" sounds like a potentially cool conservation exhibit. Will you be visiting it, and if so will you give us a report on it?

Oregon Coast seems to be continuing a trend of west coast aquariums having either temporary or permanent exhibits with a conservation theme. I would love to visit as I rate the establishment quite high, but it is a 7-8 hour one-way journey for me so I'll have to schedule it in on a future road trip.:)
