Chester Zoo Baby Elephant at chester zoo

I visited the zoo today and yesterday. I saw the baby elepant on both occasions.

Today i was at the zoo and the baby elephant was let out of the house and was outside in the paddock. He was being sheltered by Mum (Sithami) and Gran (Thai). I was surpirsed to see him in the paddock so young but he seemed pretty comfortable. He is a handsome elephant.


The keepers have confirmed that the baby is a male.

Hopefully Thai will have her baby any day now, the keepers said that she is "ready to pop".

It was actually open very late on in the afternoon on Monday.

It would appear that everyone I know that was at the zoo missed it being open then.

Well it would appear that everyone you know was wrong. The elephant house was open during periods of the day and was not as you put it "closed". There were keepers in the house making sure that everybody was quiet and they were only letting small groups of people in at a time. Sorry that your friends werent one of the lucky ones.
