I've got a lot of animal books, and many zoo history books in my collection, but this one was tremendously exciting to read. It deals with the harrowing rescue of the Baghdad Zoo amongst the terror and destruction of the Iraq War. A great read!

I read this a few months ago. I totally agree with you, very gripping and full of unusual twists and action. My heart went out to the guys running the zoo, it must have been a hell of a task but they did a great job and never gave up. Its well worth a read, in fact i wouldn't mind going out there to see the zoo as it is now.
