We arrived at the Zoo arround 12:00 and Walked towards the Zoo entrance.

Mountains

This Area has 3 Enclosures for Mountain Ungulates. The First Enclosure of this Area is also the Zoos First Habitat, it Houses some Goat and Sheep. The Next Enclosure is one of the best enclosures for alpine Ibex that i have Seen. It Houses a small Ibex Herd, the Ibex were Standing near the fence begging for food because Visitors are allowed to Feed Them. Next were 2 nice rocky outcrops that are Home to some Mouflons.

Bird Forest

This Area Houses mainly different Species of European birds but it Starts of with an Enclosure for red Deer which is also Used for an Falconry Show. After the Deer you can Walk through the Owl Forest which Houses eurasian Eagle, great Grey and snowy Owls in spacious Aviarys. After the Owls you Come across the former cormorant Enclosure which is empty apart from a few fish. The Last Aviary in the bird Forest is the Woodland Birds Aviary for Black Storks, Ferruginous Ducks and Ringneck Pheasants. By the way i have never Seen the Pheasants in this Aviary. Now you Reach the Other Side of the Deer Enclosure and this Ends the Review for today.

Next Part will be posted tomorrow

Part Two

Ancient Forest

This Area of the Zoo Houses mainly Species that are having their comback to Europe or that were extinct in Central Europe.
The First Enclosure is Home to a River Otter. After the Otter we Come across the 2 Brown Bears which Share their Enclosure with Red foxes.
Next is the Lynx Enclosure this is where you can find a feeding Simulator Presentation. Now you are Standing right Next to the Vulture
Canyon which was Home to an lappet faced vulture and is currently Home to Griffon Vultures, Rupells Vultures and Cinnerous Vultures.
During the Vulture feeding you can enter their Aviary and you can have a upclose Encounter with these Fascinating Birds. After the Vultures
you See the Moose Enclosure which is so large and spacious that the Moose have more than enough space to hide in the Forest. Now you are aproaching one of the Zoo Highlights of Bad Mergentheim their Pack of more than 30 Gray Wolfs which is one of the largest Wolf Packs in Europe according to the Zoos Website. After the Wolfs There is the Wolf Resort where you can sleep near the Wolf Enclosure. When you are lucky you can See the Parks Racoon Dogs which live in the Last Enclosure of this Area.

The Farm

This is a typical Petting Zoo with Goats, Horses and Chickens, but also some rare breeds Like Dahomey Dwarf and Limburger Cattle, Mangalitza Pigs and Coburger Sheep. There is also an Animal Presentation with Turkeys, Pigeons, Rabbits and Donkeys. In the Farm Area you can also find a little House Mouse Kitchen and some Exotics Like Liamas and Bactrian Camels.

Hidden Europe

This Area Shows many small and shy Species that are rarely Seen in the Wild. The First Enclosure is the only Exception for that Rule it Houses some Wild Boar. Next to the Boar you can See the Parks Rat Sewer with Brown Rats. After the Rats you will See the Swamp. This is Home to to the only Reptiles of the Zoo, the European Pond Turtles. Behind the Turtles There is sometimes a feeding with a bald Eagle . Now you Reach the Other Side of the massive Moose Habitat. Next you Come across a cool Predator and Prey Enclosure. In the foreground you will see some Beavers and in the Background is another Red Fox Habitat. The Beavers have a Indoor Enclosure which is located inside a Giant Beaver Dam. After the Beavers There is a nice Walkthrough Aviary for some northern bald Ibis. Now you Reach the Egyptian Fruit Bat Cave which was closed because of covid 19. Now you can See the Racoon Enclosure which they Share with some Ferrets.
After Them you Reach a small rocky Enclosure which is Home to a small Pack of Arctic Foxes. The Last Carnivores of the Zoo are some wild Cats which live in a nice Natural looking Enclosure. They have a feeding Simulator where the Cats have to climb a tree to get the chick.
Now you are at the Last Enclosure of this Zoo which is a simple Fallow Deer Walkthrough.

My Oppinion

This is my all time favorite Wildlifepark. The Enclosures are large and Natural and the Park represents Animals from the Northern Hemisphere and some random Exotics in good to very good Enclosures. I can recommend this Zoo to everyone because this Zoo has everything you want from an Wildlife Park.
