I live close to the Baton Rouge Zoo, and I can say I am so glad they have finally started doing some work to improve it. I have been there more times than I can say, & was disappointed. I stopped going & started going all the way to New Orleans to Aububon Zoo. It seens with the new things starting to happen at the B.R. Zoo, I may be returning. My grandchildren do love it, but it just felt to, sad, for lack of a better word. "I" felt the animals justed didn't look happy either. There was hardly no interaction with anything. Our last visit last summer was really good, because my grandchildren were able to whole a snake & baby alligator.
So the works are in, and it is looking good.

I uploaded around 180 photos of Baton Rouge Zoo in the "U.S.A. - Other" gallery as after almost a year of waiting there is still not a specific place for this zoo's photos. Included in the photos is the 2010 addition "Realm of the Tiger", which opened in April of 2010 and is easily the best part of the zoo.
