I read that "1300 tigers" and thought that had to be a Daily Mail mistake (or whatever word you want to use there).
But I had a quick google and indeed the zoo has over a thousand tigers. Apparently it is basically a front for a tiger wine business, as in this long article from 2013: Why 1,800 tigers are in a rundown China park: to be made into wine

Even using Baidu, most of the site stated that they have 1100 tigers of Bengal,amur, south china(!) and white bengal supspecies.
