Re: the elderly elephants' home. What is the rumour re Hannover's Jenny and Dunja coming to join the 2 elderlies already in residence at Belfast?

Belfast are hoping to recieve these two elephants in the future although there is no definate timescale, perhaps hannover have been premature in this PR stunt, the moving of elephants is a logistic nightmare and the slightest hiccup can be a problem.

3 Californian sea lions born at the zoo within the last week, with some animals due to be shipped to China soon.

Have the coati, tree kangaroo etc gone on display yet?

The coati are indeed on show. The tree kangaroo house is being renovated as we speak and shall be on show hopefully in a couple of weeks!

The sealion pups are doing well as are some gentoo penguin chicks!

The following is a quote from the BBC article regarding the transfer of the three sealion pups born last year -

"In the autumn. they will move as part of an international zoo exchange to Xiangjiang Safari Park, the largest animal park in the Quangshou region of China."

I wonder what species or specimens Belfast will receive in exchange for the three sealion pups???.... Al?!..
