I am trying to do something new to come up with a list of the best American zoos according to this website. I will be putting up 7 of these polls, for several different regions. PLEASE only vote for ONE zoo in ONE poll! Also, this is not for the one with the biggest collections or most immersive exhibits, but the one that you enjoy spending time at the most.

I've visited 6 out of the 7 zoos on the list (Reid Park is the omission) and while Phoenix and ASDM are both very good my vote was for Denver Zoo.

I voted for ASDM. I have been to Denver but it was so long ago that I don't remember it well enough to rank it. Pretty much everything at ASDM is outstanding.

I got the chance to visit four of the seven this past winter.
It's a tough choice between Denver and Rio Grande for me. Both have a pretty good variety of animals. Both seemed to be a bit on the lacking of plants, but that could just be because it's winter and it wasn't very green. That and some parts of the southwest are pretty deserty (big change from the northwest.)
