I am trying to do something new to come up with a list of the best American zoos according to this website. I will be putting up 7 of these polls, for several different regions. PLEASE only vote for ONE zoo in ONE poll! Also, this is not for the one with the biggest collections or most immersive exhibits, but the one that you enjoy spending time at the most.

San Diego Zoo is the clear #1 here, but San Diego Zoo Safari Park and Woodland Park Zoo are both top 10 material.

San Diego Zoo, for sure.
The WAP is also very good, but I liked SD more.
Woodland Park Zoo also seems excellent but I haven't been there.

I have yet to be to the SD zoo. Given the distance and the admission price I won't be going there within the year.

I put my vote to PDZA. It's not the largest zoo, but I give them super props for having animals there that are pretty well suited for the climate that the Pacific Northwest has. A problem I've noticed with a lot of hoofed African animals is that the PNW is too damp and cold for them through most of the winter, and need to be kept inside for a good majority of the year. And I haven't seen too many spectacular indoor exhibits (off the top of my head).

Woodland Park is also a very nice zoo with a pretty wide variety of animals.
