This is just a bit of fun to judge the general consensus on the best enclosure for Black Rhinos in Germany. I have added a few photos from the gallery to make it easier for members to compare the different exhibits. If anyone wants to make an argument for a particular enclosure, please feel free to do so. Also, I would encourage people to list the enclosures in order of what they think is best.

I believe they have recently received a new exhibit that has no photos in the gallery. If anyone can describe or provide a photo of it if you have seen it that would be great.

I found this article which shows a nice panorama of the enclosure in cologne.
But even after the renovation I think Leipzig and Magdeburg still have the better enclosures.
For me the winner is Magdeburg since they have a spacious indoor area which i at least more than the typical boxes other zoos offer.

Leipzig is best outdoors, but nobody knows how the indoor accommodation looks like.

For this reason I choose Magdeburg. Both zoos get extra points for innovative mixed species - rare with this potentially aggressive rhino species.

A big difference is that Magdeburg's 2 on-show outdoor enclosures are roughly 2000 square metres combined, whereas the 3 Leipzig outdoor enclosures are roughly 8000 square metres combined.

There are generally also only 1-2 rhino on show indoors in Magdeburg, which means the remaining animals are kept in traditional boxes behind the scenes. And with 2 outdoor enclosures only, there is generally one adult that doesn't have an outdoor enclosure at all times, whereas all 3 adults in Leipzig have their own outdoor exhibit.

Who can tell which zoos allow rhinos 24h access outdoors, weather permitting?

Score update. It is a two rhinoceros race, with Leipzig in a healthy lead. Are there thoughts from anyone on the other exhibits?

Poll closed. Congratulations to Leipzig for having the Best Black Rhino enclosure in Germany. The large naturalistic enclosures for multiple animals gave them a win over Magdeburg in second who also had a fairly good enclosure. This is Leipzig's first win, of which probably won't be the last.

Leipzig: 69.0%
Magdeburg: 31.0%

Finally a poll without a zoo I haven't personally visited.
Too late to actually vote, but it would have been Leipzig all the way.
Magdeburg is indeed a good second, the rest never stood a chance.

Sorry this is very late, but I didn’t include Krefeld. Here is the exhibit. If anyone wanted to vote for it tell me here.
