OK, so I've now started on my third country set: Germany. I hope you enjoy these new polls as much as I do. I will be making polls on the same species as the UK and Benelux.

This is just a bit of fun to judge the general consensus on the best enclosure for Bornean Orangutans in Germany. I have added a few photos from the gallery to make it easier for members to compare the different exhibits. If anyone wants to make an argument for a particular enclosure, please feel free to do so. Also, I would encourage people to list the enclosures in order of what they think is best.

I felt like I had to separate Sumatran and Bornean orangs into two different polls because there were a bit too many enclosures IMO.

I have visited 5 out of the 6 zoos. I would say definitely not Duisburg, Osnabruck or Wuppertal. I haven't been to Rostock but it does look modern and spacious. Munster is okay, but Cologne has so many climbing opportunities that it gets my vote.

My vote goes to Rostock which has 2 large outdoor enclosures in which the trees are fully accessible too, though the majority are hard to climb. The indoors was closed when I visited, but doesn't look too impressive. Cologne is great for such an old exhibit, but has only 2 not too large indoor exhibits and a single outdoor exhibit.

Poll closed. Congratulations to Cologne for having the Best Sumatran Orangutan enclosure in Germany. Lots of climbing frames and a decent indoor and outdoor exhibit made it win, a good job for an enclosure which is a decent age. A mention to Rostock which did well to come second with the immense Darwineum.

Cologne: 50.0%
Rostock: 39.3%
Munster: 10.7%

Wow, I wonder about the result. My vote would go to Rostock, followed by Münster, afterwards there is a huge gap. For me Cologne is not having a modern enclosure according to today's standards. Duisburg clearly is the worst.
