But, unless things have changed significantly from the rather disasterous series of financial and political decisions regarding the "new" Emmen Zoo last year, this jungle exhibit is a very long way from becoming a reality.

Any news about the current funding situation for this long-planned and controversial project?

There has not been a disastrous political decision concerning the new emmen, they have been send back to do their homework again, that's all. The funding is back on-route now, and th enew zoo is still scheduled to open in 2015. The final decision wil be made this year, but a majority of the city council is still in favour of the project.
