This is just a bit of fun to judge the general consensus on the best enclosure for Dwarf Crocodiles in the UK. I have added a few photos from the gallery to make it easier for members to compare the different exhibits. If anyone wants to make an argument for a particular enclosure, please feel free to do so. Also, I would encourage people to list the enclosures in order of what they think is best.

If there are any outdated photos, collections that no longer hold them or people have photos for exhibits not in the gallery or with poor photos please let me know.

If you want to vote for Barleylands, St. Andrews, Capel Manor, Eagle Heights, Johnsons Of Old Hurst, Sparsholt, Telford Exotic Zoo, Cassiobury or Wingham please vote for the "Other" option in the poll.

Unfortunately, there are no photos of this enclosure in the gallery. It would be extremely useful if someone who has visited can describe the exhibit and give an evaluation on its quality.

Whipsnade should win this for the depth, area and design of the pool alone, in my opinion. Add in a large land area, the best underwater viewing in the country, multiple viewing angles, a wonderful selection of six species including Peter's Elephantnose Fish (where many zoos seem to only have cichlids), decent off-show facilities as mentioned above and a solid breeding record to show for it all, and you have an enclosure that is, in my opinion, far better than the rest.

Sea Life London is very large, but the pool is too shallow, and between the wooden crates, fake trees and the odd lighting, the aesthetics are very poor. Paradise Wildlife Park is the only one that I have seen that I would consider poor, mainly as the pool is far too shallow, but the limited land space and out-of-place fake grass (which, judging by the photo above, may have been removed since my last visit) doesn't help its case either. In my opinion, only Crocodiles of the World comes close to Whipsnade, mainly due to comparable pool depth, but it still is far behind in my eyes.

Whipsnade for me partly due the vast difference in this new space from the old one as mentioned above but mostly because it’s lovely to look at, well planted, interesting and a good size and has lots of viewing angles and variation. I confess though I was recently at Johnson’s that enclosure passed me by! Or the other way round it seems.
