The Denver Zoo is in the running for Top Zoo Exhibit in the U.S.
"USA TODAY 10Best" went to experts in the field to find the most outstanding zoo exhibits that engage visitors and also place the welfare of the animals as a top priority.
The recommendations came in from the Zoo Association of America and the International Zoo Educators Association.
"USA TODAY 10Best" has narrowed it down to 20 nominees for Best Zoo Exhibit (aquariums not included).
The Benson Predator Ridge is up against the likes of the Big Cat Crossing at the Philadelphia Zoo, Sea Lion Sound at the St. Louis Zoo and the Elephant Odyssey at the San Diego Zoo.
Benson Predator Ridge opened in 2004. It sits right at the main entrance of Denver Zoo and is filled with big rock sculptures where you'll find animals basking in the sun most afternoons.
The space is home to the African lions, African wild dogs and spotted hyenas.
There are several different yards in Predator Ridge, and the lions, wild dogs and hyenas rotate in between them. This allows for a guest to have a different experience at the exhibit on each visit. The Denver Zoo also points out the different yards provide lots of stimulation for the animals' minds and bodies.
Voting ends on Monday, April 27 (10 a.m. MT). You are allowed to vote every day if you like: Vote- Best Zoo Exhibit Nominees: 2015 10Best Readers' Choice Travel Awards.
