So it looks like BCR is selling their land and moving the cats to Turpentine Creek Wildlife Refuge in Arkansas. They cite the lessening need for places like BCR, overhead costs, and the age of the owners.
Personally I don't care for the place at all and think this is a very good thing. But then, I have no idea about the facility the cats are moving to.
The reason is likely monetary for the most part as the land they are on has increased exponentially in value over the years, it is no longer a back woods part of town, it is in a very busy and fairly nice part of the city without a lot of open land to sell. Likely it will be another new home neighborhood in the next few years.
