Has anyone come across Binturong in a mixed exhibit?

I'm wondering whether they could be successfully mixed with Asian Short Clawed otters, with the Binturong living predominantly up above the otters...

Or do you think there would be too much aggression between the two species?

i imagine it could work. idea: short clwed otters in a moat (and land obviously) and binturings on an island (or can binturongs swim?0

Ive seen them mixed in singapore before. I believe the mix works well although the otters can be quite aggressive to other species.

I think they tried in the orangutan exhibit at Hagenbeck zoo, but the binturong was removed because of aggression towards the otters I think.

San Diego Zoo has already been mentioned in what is a fantastic exhibit, but if my memory serves me correctly there are binturongs in with Prevost's squirrels and another species at the Brookfield Zoo in Chicago.

The Minnesota Zoo used to keep binturongs together with Malayan tapirs. Same basic principle as otters/bints--binturongs up in the branches, tapirs on the ground and in the water.

I remember seeing the binturong at San Diego hissing its displeasure from a hollow log as the lion-tailed macaques harassed it from outside. Not sure they are still kept together there.

Thanks for the replies so far....
I would have thought that lion tailed macaques would have more incidents of confrontation than otters, does anyone have any experience of otters climbing?

Marwell has some otters in an aviary and they sleep in nest boxes up off the ground. I have also seen ediburghs climb out of the enclosure apparently they know when the electric fence is turned off however I dont think their arboreal habits will have any significant impact on the binterongs!

otters can climb....theyre a bit like foxes in this respect though obviously they arent jumpers...
adelaide zoo hasnt mixed, to my knowledge binturong with otters. binturong are a fairly new species for adelaide so i may be wrong. melbourne, on the other hand did mix binturong with otter...the binturong had to be removed because they kept escaping.
as for brookfield's mix, i think the squirrels had to be removed due to stress ulcers

I seem to recall seeing them in a mixed exhibit in the Buffalo Zoo in the early 90's/mid 90's (I believe my last visit was in '97 or '96) with some type of primate.

AquaZoo Friesland keep their Binturongs in with asian short clawed otters and as far as i know, they are both doing fine. The park also has European otters and might also mix them with the binturongs every now and then.

Burgers' Zoo has opened a new exhibit with the idea to mix binturongs with malayan sunbears, both species are allready in the park but i'm not sure they've been combined yet...

aqua zoo friesland for sure, the binturongs can climb the trees so they won't have to be on the ground with the otters. in sydney is a nice southe east asian exhibit: thay have tapirs, otters and binturongs. the binturongs and otters have access to the tapir part of the enclosure.
