Bird Photo Competition

Inspired by a few other Zoochatters decided to give this a go. :D

Take one photo of any bird.
Rules : -

- You have to have taken the picture yourself.
- Has to be in a zoo.
- Needs to be posted in this thread either by a thubnail or URL.
- Please write a brief discription of the photo when you post it.
- Only one picture per person.

All entries must be in this thread by 7pm on Thursday 13th January.:D

Good idea for comp, but Wednesday 13th January are you serious, so we have untill 2017to hand in our photographs (Just joking)
Is it Wednesday 12th or Thursday 13th

Male Fairy Bluebird, MN Zoo, Oct-2010

This was easily one of the most elusive birds I came across at the MN Zoo's aviary, during my trip in October 2010. I consider myself very fortunate to have gotten this shot, and that it came out as clear as it did (even allowing for flash).

You should see the large-file original. The red-eye effect is so strong, I was tempted to dub it 'Demon Bluebird!'

Interesting thing is, I think that may be the normal color for the reflective layer in the bird's eye.

Well, IF we're going to run another poll, I'd like to enter this photo of a Fischer's Turaco which I took yesterday at ZSL London Zoo.
