So Predator: Badlands is out, and it's basically an inspiring story about an underdog traveling far to get some ticks on his life list so he can move up in society.
If there was a subculture of Yautja who were pacifists and simply aimed to see and document species across the universe to get ticks on their life lists, what futuristic tools would they use on their big year trips? What would their rule book/code of honor say? How would they determine social status? Would they count animals in intergalactic zoos, or only wild ones? Would the zoo nerd ones have a galaxy-wide Zootierliste?
The thermal vision and the cloaking device would already be really useful for observing wildlife. That's like turning yourself into a trailcam.
