Birding guide in Zoo Wroclaw

We passed through some mammal pavilions and paddocks we met a couple of cages next door to big cats with Brown Eared Pheasants (Crossoptilon mantchuricum) and relatives Blue Eared Pheasants (Crossoptilon auritum). Next door to the Elephant House there was a big aviary for White-tailed Eagles (Haliaeetus albicilla) and some smaller aviaries with Peregrine Falcons (Falco peregrinus), Reeves's Pheasants (Syrmaticus reevesii), Himalayan Monals (Lophophorus impejanus), Golden Pheasants (Chrysolophus pictus) and their hybrid with Lady Amherst Pheasant (C. pictus x amherstiae).

n one lateral aviary for waterfowls we saw Eurasian Wigeons (Anas penelope), Chilöe Wigeons (Anas sibilatrix), Northern Pintails (Anas acuta), Mandarin Ducks (Aix galericulata), Carolina Ducks (Aix sponsa), Knob-billed Duck (Sarkidiornis melanotos) and some hybids of Mallards (Anas platyrhynchos f. domestica).
Can you imagine that you haven't entered the main Aviary at our zoo. This is this building surrounded with these enclosures above. The most complete list of our birds is here. This forum is in Polish but there are also some Latin names. Enjoy :)

My dear friend, if you read all the article, on the end you can find the complete list of the birds :) Well, the aviary was not constructed in that time yet but I had communicated with the educational department of the zoo before I published the article and they sent me the complete bird list - and you have the truth - I was VERY sad I did not come later :) Btw. I enjoyed the polish name warzęcha czerwonolica :) We have similar name for the shape of the bill but the bird has different name :)

Heh, the question is when did you get this list? I can see there some species I've never seen at Wroclaw zoo as well as some species that left our zoo last year (or died) and they are not planned in the future. The list I linked here is updated as soon as possible 'cause we are at Wroclaw zoo very often, but, of course, we can't compete with the official list of Department of Education. The Aviary, or better Bird House was built at the turn of 19th century so it still exist and houses a big collection of parrots, pigeons and other birds. Some of them you can notice at the photos of Zuzka.
Greets :)

Well, I obtained the list one week before the review was published and they were ensuring me the list is actual so I don´t know... Well, we were discussing with Zuzka about the pavilion of the birds - I every time cross all the zoo which I do enter so it seems to me very strange I have not found it although we spent there lots of time. I really don´t know - maybe the pavilion was closed...
