Not good news I'm afraid.

Their male Ocelot, George, has passed away.
They have posted it on their FB and IG accounts.

We are devastated to announce the sudden passing of our male Ocelot, George, at the age of 11.

George was born at Amazon World on the Isle of Wight in April 2011. He moved to us at just under one year old, in April 2012.

George will be remembered for his grumpy personality, and his stunning good looks. He really was the most handsome boy.

Our keepers are shocked and heartbroken at this sudden news. Please feel free to send us any photos of George that you may have, to help the team through this sad time.

Thank you George. You'll be sadly missed.

Visited the park for the first time today and enjoyed my visit. Seems like a very caring place for the animals and loved some of the enclosure designs however it rained the whole time I was there so didn’t get to see as much as I hoped. I was just wondering is Nala the only lynx at the zoo? I only managed to see one spider monkey but I’ve seen in social media there is two? I could be wrong. Also only saw one meerkat aswell.

Nala is the only Lynx now.
There should be 2 spider monkeys, and 2 meerkat.
I don't know about the spider monkey, but in the past 2 weeks (visited twice) we've only seen 1 meerkat.

I had the afternoon off today so I thought I’d pop down for a bit, so here’s a couple of updates;
  • There are no longer ring-tailed lemur in with the red ruffed lemurs (or if there were they were mysteriously off display)
  • Overgrown foliage around the park has been cut back, most notably in the multi-species tamarin enclosure
  • There are currently 4 Linnaeus’s two-toed sloths in the nocturnal house, I knew of a pair and one offspring they had last year, and there seemed to be only 3 back in January
  • Ring-tailed lemurs enclosure is undergoing either maintenance or renovation as a huge section of the fence has been removed
  • Middle bridge across the canal (between the sitatunga and spider monkey) is closed off, as is the indoor viewing for the binturong and otters, the latter probably due to the young pups

We went for the first time here last August, and I've been 7 more times since then, and I've never seen any ring tailed lemurs in with the red ruffed ones, always just seen the 2 red ones on their own?

There was 1 male Ring-Tailed Lemur in with the Red Ruffeds. He moved to Beale Park earlier in the year.

Rather wet visit this afternoon. Haven't been for a year, but would like to try and get back more often.

Things I noticed:
There is an un-signed Bettong (?) in with the Slender Loris. Lovely to see, but hopefully not long-term in that space, it didn't feel large enough for it.

Only one Pygmy Slow Loris visible.

A young Goeldi's Monkey seems not to have a full tail, but that doesn't seem to affect it.

Also in with the Goeldi's are two Douroucouli, was interesting to be able to see them in daylight through the outside window (there were two other Douroucouli in with the sloths too)

No sign of the Sitatunga or Eclectus Parrot.

Nala the last Eurasian Lynx is still around

There is an area between the Bamboo Lemurs and Squirrel Moneys roped off and with some enclosure panelling. Can't remember if there was an enclosure there before, but maybe a new one in progress?

I don't think there is another enclosure between the Bamboo lemurs & Squirrel monkey, I know the Lynx enclosure is on the opposite side and then you have Pete the Komodo dragon's enclosure around the corner.

Wonder what they plan on doing soon...

I got a picture of the site, will upload later this evening

They are still together yes.
There's 6 otters at the moment. The youngest 2 are not even a year old I believe.
Thank you so much. That's brilliant. Last time I went there was only two and they were quite old. So they must of passed away and got a new family.

We've only been visiting since last year July so I wouldn't know I'm afraid. Back then there were 4, the parents and 2 offspring.

Apparently the bettong (Bettongia penicillata) currently housed with the lorids will hopefully be moved to a new enclosure set to be built at some point, though I’m not sure of the timeframe.

Visited this afternoon, not much new to report, but there seems to be a very new baby sloth hanging onto mum
