I stumbled across this random showing of the 2001 series Birthday Zoo on animal planet this afternoon.

Unfortunately, they aired 10 episodes but I only caught the last 2 when I was channel hopping when I got in. The episodes featured an elephant calf called Po Chin turning 1 years old. (I think he was the one that died so I found it rather poignant - please correct me if I'm wrong), and a plethora of baby humbolt penguin chicks. Is it still common for all the chicks to be automatically handreared?

I'm a bit miffed that I missed the other as it was lovely seeing glimpse of the zoo from 10 years ago.

Which baby was Mandy the chimp giving birth to?

Having saw the program this morning I was just wondering if any of the staff featured in the program's were still at the zoo?

Also is one of the two male lions featured a young Asoka?

The three Asian lions were Chandani and her two sons Naseek and of course Ashoka. I believe Wayne McLeod is still there.

I believe Wayne McLeod is still there.
Not having seen the program but going on Rob's list and the above, Wayne McLeod is now Team Leader of Birds (and a thoroughly good bloke with ninja bird-catching capabilities) and Darren Langford is still on the Tropical Realm bird team.
