Black rhinos in Europe

The 17-year-old black rhino male Kito will soon be moving from Erlebnis-Zoo Hannover to another zoo. A new male will then return to Hannover. This exchange is intended to ensure that both zoos can actively contribute to the breeding programme.

Kito has moved to Diergaarde Blijdorp. There he will be paired with female Naima. Within the next few weeks, 5-year-old male Nasor will move from Diergaarde Blijdorp to Erlebnis-Zoo Hannover, where he will be paired with female Maisha.

A black rhino has been born at Folly Farm Adventure Park & Zoo on the 27th of November. It is a male. The parents are Nkosi and Dakima.
