We visited last weekend. There are 3 Blesbok in an enclosure next to the giraffes. Apologies if this is common knowledge, but I got quite excited about it!
I'll post photos shortly.

They did come from Africa Alive Taun. Blackpool Zoo announced there arrival several months ago on Facebook.

I thought they would have put it on the website, but will be nice to see a new antelope species at the zoo. Wonder if they will be mixed with the giraffe in the already small paddock.

I'm glad someone else got as excited as I did, camel leopard!

Note to self: must read other threads before posting! :o

I think its great they have a new species, but they did not metion them on the website and have not really made publicised it which s a sham.

I think they will be mixed with the giraffe then as a keeper said they wanted something to mix with them, though the enclosure is already small enough for the giraffe! hope they extend the enclosure into the llama and rhea paddock.

The Blesbok at Africa Alive! are mixed with Giraffe, Chapman's Zebra, Ostrich and Southern White Rhino. I'm sure the plan at Blackpool is to mix the two species.

It would be great if they are mixed at blackpool it's just the enclosure is rather small.

The Llama and Rheas moved out of the paddock that backs onto the Giraffe enclosure sometime last year and the enclosure altered so the Giraffes can use it during the better weather.

Ahh i did not realise , thats great , it was abit of a shame the llama and rhea had the biggest paddock in the zoo. Wonder if they will mix any other species with the giraffe.
