Hi all

Am off to dive with the sharks this weekend at Blue Planet :D

I see there is nothing here about it so was wondering if people have been and what their opinions are of it. Also keen to know what species there are (I know I should look at their website first :o:rolleyes:)

Thanks for any info

Hope you have fun diving with sharks.

I was not impressed with it, thought it was very expensive for what it is. I know there is a cost element involved, however the average visitor probably spends less than 3 hours in there.

I have to admit thou the shark tunnel was brilliant and the best thing about it.

Not even in the top 5 Aquariums in the U.k as far as I`m concerned, but as stated the Shark Tank is the best part of it,I have been round the place in under 1 1/2 hours and not felt as if i had missed anything.

I've been there 3 or 4 times since it opened; most recently just over a year ago. I would rate it better than any of the Sea Life centres that I have visited, but not as good as The Deep (Hull) or the National Marine Aquarium (Plymouth). The shark tank is very good, and has a really interesting range of fishes from cleaner wrasses upwards - with a range of views from a big picture window, through the tunnel and from smaller windows in the restaurant.
There is a fair freshwater section with electric eels, some big catfish and some freshwater turtles, arrow poison frogs and a few other reptiles. On the lower floor, there are quite nice mangrove and coral reef displays and two open tanks for native marines (flatfishes, rays and wrasses etc). There are also small-clawed otters outside the gift shop.

Just out of interest, what would be your top 5 zoogiraffe?
1, Hull the Deep
2, National Marine Aquarium (Plymouth)
3, Deep Sea World
4, London Aquarium
5, Blackpool Sealife Centre

Note Blackpool only just beat`s Newquay Bluereef Aquarium as far as I`n concerned,so Blue Planets even further down the list as I would also but Weymouth Sealife Centre in front of it.

Thanks for that, I really need to make time in the future to visit some of those.
