I often drice by this place, all animals visible from the road. i saw what i ussually see there, Llama and Rhea in a paddock, Sika Deer in the other, and finally muntjac

then, behind the deer paddocks i saw 3 Gaur! im sure that they were them, anyone elso shocked!

Either species would be very interesting! what is the name of this collection? have they a website? are there photos in the gallery?

Christopher Marler still has Gayal doesn't he? He's not a million miles away from here.
Thats who i was thinking of but wasn`t sure if i had the right part of the country but it seems i am right in which case it looks like he still has some of the Gayal left.

You're a bit young to drive aren't you?;)

I reckon you may have seen Gayal- very similar and in private hands in Uk as mentioned above. I think the only Gaur are Whipsnade's.

Marler is/was in Buckingghamshire but these could easily have come from him. He donated a pair of American Bison to Whipsnade a few years back when they started keeping them again.

i didnt have time to post this earlier, was at school

my dad drove,

possibly gayal, but was shocked to see a gaur like animal, to big to be a water buffalo

I highly doubt it. It would've been called Boar's Hill for a few centuries at least, probably cause it was a common place for the higher classes to hunt wild boar in medieval times.

Why do you highly doubt it,when the population of Wild Boar living wild on the U.K is on the increase and in some areas expanding its range,as far as i know the Cotswolds does have a small population of Wild Boar.

A place that would've been called Boar's Hill for centuries means there's automatically wild boar populations living there? I live near a place called Otterbourne and it's nul of the creatures.
