Bonobos have mastered fire

there's nothing about this anywhere online except this one article (and a couple of copies of the article on other sites). I'll leave others to decide what that means.

there is actually a bonobo called Kanzi who knows how to build a fire but that is taught behaviour (and what comes up by the score when googling bonobos making fire!)

That's right. if you gave him a box of matches and a pack of cigarettes he could light the match, light the ***, extinguish the match by shaking it before it burnt his fingers, and smoke the cigarette professionally.

Looks like attempt to promote an upcoming "Planet of the Apes" movie...
for 2011 prequel, it was a viral video about chimps using guns ;)

AFAIK Kanzi only lights a fire to toast marshmallows,
