Hello! I'm looking for good books about wildlife biology/conservation biology etc. or just books on wildlife for someone going into the zoology field. I'll be going to college this fall for zoology and I'd love to read books about zoology and the suck. Any recommendations would be great! Thanks!

Some nice things that I have in my book shelf :p

Townsend et al. Essentials of Ecology
Kardong: Vertebrates; comparative anatomy, function, evolution
Mills: Conservation of wildlife populations
Hickman et al.: Integrated principles of zoology.

I really like the first two.

It really depends what you are going to focus on in zoology. I've heavily focused on Behavioural ecology, and my bible (although really old) is Bird Behaviour by Robert Burton.

Thanks for the suggestions!

I'm going into wildlife biology and conservation biology. Focus on herpetology but I'd love to read anything in the broad aspect as well.

go the amazon.com, type in zoology, conservation biology and wildlife conservation text books separately and you will find many. If you are considering a zoo husbandry career, type in american association of zoo keepers and colleges offering zoo career training separately. Since you live in Chicagoland, contact Lincoln Park and Brookfield Zoos and Shedd Aquarium about parttime and volunteer employment

Thanks! I've looked up basically all the text books and even ordered some last week haha. I'm already going to a school I picked for wildlife biology and I volunteered at Brookfield for 4 years already aha. I'm working for a conservation group right now.

Would you recommend any books that are not text books?
