It's always slightly disappointing to see a zoo lose its long-standing AZA-accreditation, but in a way also a positive thing as there are many zoos that need to dramatically improve to regain accreditation and hopefully Bramble Park Zoo does just that. It's a very old, more than 110 year-old facility and there are obviously numerous issues with many animal exhibits. The zoo had been accredited since 1993, but standards have increased in recent years and that's a good thing.

Just wondering ....!? Does AZA have provisions for assisting zoos that are looking to get accredited first time or those like Bramble Park Zoo that have lost their accredition helping them to regain it by assisting them with consultants from accredited institutions in their area of operation?
