Construction of a stand-alone brown bear enclosure started at outskirts of town Janské Lázně few days ago and should be finished later this year. It will cover over 5000 m2 (1/2 of hectare). Budget is 0,6 mio euro - invested by a company owning Sky bridges. The land is owned by National park Krkonoše. The care will be provided by Dvur Kralove zoo staff. The bear enclosure is located just next to a popular Sky bridge called "stezka korunami stromů" (200.000 sold tickets annually, 14 euro per ticket) and should support tourism and education.

4 Carpathian brown bears are slated to arrive from Zoo Kosice in autumn. Official opening date is Easter 2026.

No update surfaced in local media for months. But the bear enclosure is most probably completed now. Its status of confined establishment under Regulation (EU) 2016/429 got approved earlier this month. I guess, transport of the bears might happen anyday.
