I am planning a trip in early June to cover the 4 zoos of Cambridgeshire, and was after any tips, particularly on seeing the rarities in the collections. This is the order I am planning to do it in: -

Thurs pm - Shepreth WP
Fri am - Johnsons of Old Hurst
Fri pm - Hamerton Zoo
Sat am - Linton Zoo

I am travelling from Devon hence only have Shepreth down for the afternoon. I have put Hamerton down for afternoon as guessing this is best time to see the carnivores like the Greater grison, Black-backed jackals, Slender mongoose, Oncilla, Aardwolf and Brown hyenas. Linton is only open on Saturdays - any tips for the Eastern quoll? Thanks.

I was at Hamerton just last week and I found the afternoon to be most reliable for the species (par aardwolf & nicola which I did not see) however, I caught my brief 5 minute view of the Brown Hyena during the late morning. I'm sure much more regular zoochatters will be able to offer more sound and reliable advice.

The quoll at Linton can be variable, but generally the best times are early morning or late afternoon, but sometimes they are fed earlier in the afternoon which makes a difference. Unfortunately there is no feed and talk for them currently, which was always a certain chance to see them in the past

Thank you, will try to visit their enclosure first as going in morning

Thank you, I did think afternoon would be better for the carnivores
