Visited Cannon Hall Farm today, and I must say I was not only shocked but very impressed.
The farm has opened a red squirrel walkthrough, which was unfortunately closed as i visited later but it looked very nice indeed. They also had banded mongoose near the entrance which I thought was very interesting as they seem few and far between in the UK.

The real show-stealer was the small mammal house. I had no idea that this existed and so it was an extremely good surprise to have today. It is a large nocturnal house that is mainly dedicated to small rodents - a group which is rather unrepresented nowadays in UK zoos.
The species list goes as follows:
Harvest mice
Sugar gliders
Large hairy armadillo
Lesser hedgehog tenrec
Long eared hedgehog
Persian jird
Brandt’s vole
Acacia rat
Black rat
Northern Luzon cloud rat
Northern treeshrew
Common yellow toothed cavy
Brazilian cavy
African woodland dormouse
African pygmy mouse
Cactus mouse
House mouse
Turkish spiny mouse
Guinea pig
Hermanns tortoise
Cichlid sp
Northern treeshrew
Barbary striped grass mouse

Overall, a mightily impressive collection, with a good few empty exhibits too that looked ready for new inhabitants in the near future, it looks exciting as to what could possibly fill those gaps:D

I live only a few minutes away, so it's quite exciting to see these new developments. I'm looking forward to what's to come!

Called in this afternoon as the farm posted this week that White-tailed Antsangy (Brachytarsomys albicauda) were now on show in the Mammal House - and they very much are, with three very active individuals seen.

All the species listed by @pangolin12 above are also still present, plus Northern Water Vole and there are still a number of unused displays to be filled - it's a great display.
