Captive Koala Numbers article

And stating those are the 'total numbers' for the different states, yet he didn't contact Darling Downs Zoo, the Koala Park at Pennant Hills in Sydney, Hunter Valley Zoo, Oakvale Farm and Fauna World, Mogo Zoo, Altina, Wagga Wagga Zoo, Urumbirra Wildlife Park, Nowra/Shoalhaven Wildlife Park, Gorge Wildlife Park etc.

:p

Very odd article written by an (apparently) angry person. No wonder zoos were a bit suspicious when he rang up and asked how many koalas have you got?
I love how he expected the receptionist (!) at each zoo to know the specific number of individuals of one species of animal which the zoo holds... :D

At a guess I'd say those "total" numbers are only about two-thirds of what are held just by ZAA facilities.

Looking at the article, and his other stuff, he is calling himself the "Koala Captive Management Consultancy", which seems to be something he made up. If he was a genuine organisation you'd think he'd just contact the ZAA directly (or, more realistically, already be working with them...) rather than ringing receptionists.

There are increasing number of 'consultants' these days. If you shout loudly enough that you are an expert, there is a very good chance you'll soon be taken for one. As was said of Tony Blair - 'once you've learnt how to fake the sincerity, you've cracked it - especially if you can smile too...'
