Careers in Zoos

I have been contemplating a list of careers for a while now. After volunteering for local wildlife educator and working with wild animals I have become more interested in becoming a zookeeper. I have also thought about veterinary medicine, and also landscape for zoos. Those of you who are, have been, or are in the process of having one of those jobs any words of advice would be appreciated.

Also those of you in the U.S. and have any recommendations as far as colleges and internships go I would like to here them.
