Hello, does anybody know if it is possible to see the Caucasian Black Grouses (Tetrao/Lyrurus mlokosiewiczi) and the Black-billed Capercaillie (Tetrao parvirostris) in captivity in Europe? Some years ago Zoo Chleby in Czech republic had them (reproducing the first one as the first in the world) but they already do not have them.

Thanx for your replies.

Rostov on Don is supposed to have one female (source zootierliste) Caucasian Grouse. I can tell you that none of the zoos in the Caucasus or Turkey has the species

It must be something new because I use Zootierliste. Maybe some handicap? I know that it´s almost impossible to see it. I have read that Black-billed Capercaillie should have been in the captivity somewhere in France - the source: Black-billed Capercaillie, Tetrao parvirostris. I tried to write to the webmaster of this page but nobody has replied me till now.

after checking I got confirmation that the Tetrao parvirostris is being bred in captivity in Germany and Belgium. For the Tetrao parvirostris it's likely that they are kept as well but i got no confirmation on that.
