Hi All,
Just reading on the South Lakes Wild Animal Park Facebook i view things have been noted:
In the next few months 4 Male Giraffe are to be moved out and 3 female Peralta Giraffe to come in for the only current Peralta Giraffe in the UK Dayo.
A rare white Squirrel Monkey has been born over 6 weeks ago.
And finally the male Giant Otter is to arrive early next week from Germany visiting in 2 weeks so shall take some photos.
Regards Jordan.

Thanks for the interesting news Jordan . I wonder if a group of pure Paralta Giraffe have ever been held in the UK before ?

Good stuff there Jordan, I didn't manage to find out most of that on my visit on Wednesday.

I got to the giraffes just when the pen was being cleaned so the staff weren't too chatty for obvious reasons! The information in the Giraffe house didn't say any of that at all either, and the guide book just explains what a Giraffe is, not what they have at the park.

I'm glad there will be a male Giant Otter arriving soon, I'll have to go back and see how it gets on with the female. I put some pics up yesterday of her, she was very active, calling, standing up at the edges of her enclosure. I briefly wondered if she was calling for a mate, but then a keeper arrived with lunch! ;)

I got a couple of pictures of the white baby Squirrel Monkey but they aren't totally focused. There are four babies in total, and the group are being kept indoors for that reason. They are viewed through a window just along the corridor from where Kadi the Tiger cub is viewed. (Again pix of the Squirrel Monkeys and Kadi etc uploaded on the site yesterday).

Will have to go back in a couple of weeks then. :)
