Which zoos in the UK are NOT charity zoos? For example: Chester and Twycross are, is Blackpool?

The charity zoos belong to BIAZA. Here is a list of them: BIAZA - British and Irish Association of Zoos and Aquariums
They include Colchester, Paradise Wildlife Park and Wingham, but not Port Lympne nor Howletts.

Blackpool is owned by a Spanish company.

I understand that Monkeyworld is not a registered charity although they very actively encourage fund raising, donations etc. There is a memorial fund for Jim Cronin which is separate. I think it's because they want to be in sole control of the organisation rather than have trustees involved (hazy memory of a TV interview).

The simple way to tell if a zoo is a registered charity is to check whether they encourage you to add a Gift Aid donation to the entry price or membership etc. Only registered charities can benefit from this scheme.Their websites and literature should also quote their Registered Charity number, for example Bristol's is 1104986. This number can also be checked on the Charity Commission's website.

Yorkshire Wildlife Park is a member but I'm pretty sure the main organisation is not a charity although they do have an associated charity.
