Chester Zoo Chester Bits and Bobs

We will be there next weekend so I'll ask ..... We are usually the last to be thrown out of the Realm.....but today there at half 7 for the Rhino Run ...
 
From a trip today I have been told the new female cheetah has been named Adaze meaning Princess. She is due to be in quarantine till February 2011 :(. At least she has been named now though :) . Still no name for the Red Panda Baby though it is being worked on.

And I notice the deer near the Greater One Horned Rhino have been fenced in. Anyone know why this has happened?

I thought that the red panda baby was named 'Mira,' or so quite a few people have said (including a couple of reliable sources).

As for the deer, I have no idea. Maybe it is to do with the ground again if Babuu is churning it all up?

Any idea on any updates regarding the female Indian Rhino arriving from San Diego? Dates, etc?

Miri, an adapted version if "miracle" as I understand. I'm sure I mentioned that when we were standing by the enclosure some weeks ago! There were lots of great views (and photographs) of her yesterday afternoon, so it seems she's finally out and about on a regular basis and everyone can get some good pictures - Mariebee saw her on Tuesday too.

I've attached a shot of the youngster on her own that I don't think the zoo will use. She's a lot larger than you'd expect and apart from a few white strands around the nape of her neck and a paler face, is almost exactly the same colour as an adult.

Yesterday the Indian rhino was separated from the paddock by a temporary hotwire fence, and the blackbuck were on their hard standing. I wouldn't like to guess why.
