Anqing Zoo / Prov. Anhui - 30°31'15.02 "N 117° 2'55.91 "E
The zoo was founded in Ling Hu Park in 1956. As the zoo is located in the centre of the city and is only visited by a few tourists due to its small size, it is planned to move to the Caidian West Lake Wildlife Kingdom near Wuhan in 2019.

Founded in 1978, the Aquarium opened two new facilities on May 7th, 2018:
38 aquariums in the Jellyfish Hall show over 30 jellyfish species.
For the Polar Penguin Pavilion, the aquarium acquired eight Gentoo Penguins from Argentina at the beginning of May. In line with the current trend in China, this aquarium is also planning a Polar Ocean World

Bengbu Zoo - Prov. Anhui - 32°55'25.87 "N 117°19'57.14 "E
The small zoo, established in 1987 in Zhang Shan Park, received 0.1 Asian Elephant in May 31, 2018.
Since 2013 it has been planned to move the small zoo to a larger area - in March 2019 the plan for a new zoo will be presented to the municipal regulatory committee.

In 2017 the wave of aquarium foundations also reached Inner Mongolia: the aquarium opened on July 28, 2017 is located over 3 floors in a shopping center. In the same year 2 Belugas arrived here. There is also a Sea Lion Show as well as a small zoo with kangaroos, kattas, suricates, otters and parrots.

Only 60 km from Baotou on Highway G6 in a westerly direction the mid-2017 Urad Front Banner Tribal Trade Front Banner Co., Ltd. opens this much smaller aquarium in mid-2017

Ordos Wildlife Park - 39°49'42.84 "N 109°53'48.27 "E
Directly next to the entrance of this 279 ha large park an aquarium with a 26 m long underwater tunnel was opened on Febr. 1st 2018.

Cangzhou - Province of Hebei
Cangzhou People's Park Zoo - 38°19'17.15 "N 116°50'43.28 "E

The small zoo opened in People's Park in 1985 housed hippos, lions, tigers, zebras and numerous birds. In 2017 the zoo was closed and transformed into a botanical garden. The animal population was transferred to the new zoo.

In 2017, the zoo still under construction acquires 2 giraffes, 3 zebras and 6 white rhinos. On May 26, 2017 the new zoo was opened to the public. In April 2018 1.1 Giant Pandas arrive at the zoo - last year a large hall was completed for the pandas, which can accommodate up to 6 Giant Pandas.

Changsha - Prov. Hunan

After a small zoo already existed in Tianxin Park in 1934, it was moved in 1956 to the northern corner of Martyrs Park on an area of approx. 4.7 ha. In the course of the next decades the animal population grew considerably, among others the zoo received hippos, giraffes, chimpanzees, Giant Pandas and Asian elephants. In the year 2000 the animal inventory show 104 Mammals of 45 species and 942 Birds of 41 species. In 2002 a Dolphin Hall was completed and at the same time 2 Bottlenose Dolphins were acquired. On Sept. 3rd . 2010 the zoo was closed and the animals were transfered to the new Zoo.

Construction work on a new zoo began at the end of 2003.
After the animals had been transported from the old zoo to the new zoo in September 2009, the new zoo could be opened on Oct. 1st, 2010. In the same year, the new zoo acquired 3.3 Asian elephants, white rhinos and 6 giraffes. Behind the new large elephant enclosure, the construction of a dolphinarium was started - but not yet completed by 2018 (presumably for financial reasons).

Opened in July 28, 2000, the facility has reported the births of 3 Belugas in recent years, the last one was born here on Sept. 22nd, 2016.

Changzhou - Prov. Jiangsu

On Oct.1st, 2007 the big safari park was opened. After he has taken care of some Asian elephants in the meantime, a total of 2.4 African elephants from Zimbabwe arrived in the park on March 3rd, 2018.

Chengdu - Prov. Sezchuan

Chengdu Wild World - 30°52'20.54"N 104°23'26.95"E

On Dec. 28, 2001 the 300 ha safari park was opened. In summer 2003 the park, 47 km away from Chengdu, already had more than 2 million visitors. But despite the reduction of the entrance fee, the number of visitors decreased to only a few thousand per day in 2006. Also the acquisition of 2 Giant Pandas did not bring the necessary success, so that the park was closed in 2007. The site was acquired by a real estate company and - according to Google Maps - converted into a villa district.

On Nov. 11, 2016 the approx. 30 ha large park was opened. The animal population includes giraffes, zebras, white rhinos, kangaroos, black bears (3.7 arrived in Oct. 21st, 2016 in the zoo) and 1.1 orangutans since January 2019. The web side of the zoo shows a detailed map.

The Giant Panda House, completed in December 2017, is also described at this address. On Febr. 2nd. 2018 the zoo acquired 2 Giant Pandas.

Quanzhou Shishi Ocean World

On March 3rd, 1999, on the Shishi Cold Coast opened a somewhat unusual facility. This attraction has the form of a cruise ship and offers the visitors among other things an aquarium, a Dolphin Hall as well as an Indoor ice- & Snow World.
Since 2003 the number of visitors is strongly decreasing. In 2008 the credit costs can no longer be paid and the creditors sue the Ocean World Company. In 2011 a court confiscates all assets and in January 2014 Shishi Jinyu Investment Co., Ltd. acquires all assets of Ocean World Company. After extensive renovation, the Ocean World is reopened on Sept. 22nd. 2018.
