Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Garden Cincinnati's Snow leopard exhibit

Well, I've never been to the Cinci Zoo so take my opinion for what it's worth...based on the photos you provided. Don't Snow Leopards like to climb things? In watching the Chattanooga Zoo Snow Leopard cam, they always seem to be on a big rock thing and this exhibit doesn't seem to provide many opportunities for them to climb. On the plus side, I like the viewing window and the type of fence they used. Very SLR friendly.

The first photo shows a lot more green than the others and that looks good.

I guess they do need more elevation but Nubo and Renji (a female from Chattanooga) love the near bottom of the exhibit. Also hidden in the rocks are hidden vents that blow 50 degrees cold air. Also keep in mind that the old exhibit was a 10X15 tank.

That is good, then, that they seemed to take in the cats' preferences of the lower parts of the exhibit and built fairly accordingly. And yes, considering their previous exhibit was a 10x15 tank, this new one is 100 times better. During the summer months I'm sure those vents will be a huge welcome to the heavily furred felines.

Judging from the photos that you posted I would say that the snow leopard exhibit is a huge disappointment, and it certainly does not compare to enclosures at zoos like Bronx, Central Park, Philadelphia, Woodland Park or Roger Williams Park. The new cougar exhibit at Cincinnati seems to be far superior.

A disappointment?

I feel like this exhibit is to barren and needs lots of more climbing opportunities. I would prefer Brookfield Zoo's snow leopard grotto because the exhibit has much more climbing space and actualy has trees in the exhibit.

I'd say average at best; pretty boring and empty (really just flat grass and some rocks on the ground). It doesn't look very large but that's hard to judge.

On the plus side, a million times better than the hole they used to keep them in.

I know the people who built the exhibit and maybe I'll try to either mention it to them, or on Facebook that it needs more work. Also it is larger than shown.

Compared to where they keep Manchu at the Secret Garden in Vegas (if he's even still there, I haven't seen him in awhile), this new exhibit is a palace.
