I saw this advert which may be of interest to some of you..

"Patronised by Royalty and televised by B.B.C. and I.T.V", a slogan which was used on the posters of Robert Brothers Famous Circus in 1984/5!, Miss Kitty's Poodles, this being Mrs. Kitty Roberts, as well as performing in the ring with her dogs was also the company secretary, her grand daughter "Miss Kitty" later had a poodle act. "Bobby, English Boy Wonder of the Wire", this being Bobby Roberts, son of Mr.Bobby and Mrs. Kitty Roberts, more famous as an elephant trainer and to this day proprietor of Bobby Roberts Super Circus with his wife Moira. Clown Jacko, this is Jacko Fossett, a first class clown and also a true gent,Carolyn Jane, eldest daughter of Mr. Tommy and Mrs. Marie Roberts, who tragically died at a young age due to kidney failure. Last but by no means least, Captain Sidney Howes, who after thirty years on Roberts, "scarpered" to another show owned by a young man who left home aged 16 to join Robert Brothers at Newcastle, destined for a successful career in circus, his name, Gerry Cottle!

Bubbles I'm really loving these old clippings and posters you're putting up. There fascinating to see as both zoo and social history.
 
Thank you, mazfc for your kind words. I have quite a few interesting articles to post relating to Flamingo Park Zoo. I also have another circus advert which I shall try and find.
