This is my first time making a thread like this. This two visits is kinda special for me as the visit to Cisarua is my first visit in 2020 and happen just few days before the new year eve, my first visit in 2021 takes place very early in the year.

December 23th, 2020:
I woke up 6 AM to avoid traffic and since I already prepared my stuff since two days before I trip, I just dressed up and get into my car. The ride from West Jakarta to Cisarua took atleast three hours as far as I can remember. In the Jagorawi Toll Road, I can see two mountains, one at the left and one at the right side of the road. The mountain at the left side is Mount Salak, which was said to be haunted, and Mount Pangrango at the right, which is where Taman Safari is located.

After passing through the mountains and villages, I arrived at Cisarua. The first thing I see is a pretty big shopping centre. After arriving at the three-way junction, I go to the right which is a straight road to Taman Safari. Before arriving to Royal Safari Garden, I go to the convenience stores located right next to the resort to buy some foods and drinks.

Royal Safari Garden is a resort owned by Taman Safari and you can also buy the ticket to the park in the resort. I decided to explore the resort as I was said to wait until 2 PM to go to my room, in the lobby, there is short circular aquarium with fake dead tree in the middle, there is also live plants surrounding it in the water. The fish in the aquarium are common aquarium fish like oranda and comet goldfish, variety of molly and platy, tiger barbs, lemon yellow lab, zebra tilapia, and a pair of albino Senegal bichir. The aquarium's two bichirs is pretty different to each other in term of size, one is not so small yet not so big and the other is pretty big that it could eat the other fish in the aquarium. There is also several mosquitofish in the aquarium which I guess is a feeder fish for the bichirs.

After the lobby, I go outside to Africa Adventure which located behind the lobby and De'Savanna restaurant. The main highlight of the Africa Adventure is a exhibit for Chapman's zebras and llama, after that there is a rounded aviary for ring-tailed lemurs, but none are visible. On the way to the Giraffe Building, which is were my room is located, there is a pond housing four black swans, koi, and tilapia. There is also some pigeons in the island located in the middle of the pond, they can roam freely in the resort.

On 10 AM, I go to the resort's attraction site, located at the back of the resort. To spent my time waiting until 2 PM, I go to the Dewi Kinnaris Bird Park. But, I realize that the animal show is about to start and go watch it first. The shows first performer is three parrot species, the red-and-green macaw, salmon-crested cockatoo, and sulphur-crested cockatoo, raising a flag. Then, two other birds, blue-and-yellow macaw and yellow crested cockatoo, join the three. The parrots then started grabbing money given by the audiences and gave it to the presenters, this is a part of the show for some reason. After the parrots, four Poodles perform, like dancing with each other and marching together with two legs. I didn't like this part of the show, it then moved to a presentation for the rhinoceros hornbill, which I really like since the hornbills aren't taught to do anything like dancing or singing, they simply fly around the show stage and scares younger audiences.

After the show end, I waited a little bit as the bird park is crowded with people and I don't want to risk it. After waiting a little bit, I go to the bird park. The first section of the Dewi Kinnaris Bird Park is a decent sized walkthrough aviary. In the water, I can see black swans, lesser and wandering whistling ducks, and red-eared sliders. I can also see landfowls like helmeted guineafowl and white Indian peahen. The majority of the birds in this walkthrough aviary are lories and parrot, I see the black-capped lory, a single blue Indian rose-ringed parakeet, and red lory.

Then, continue to a smaller circular walkthrough aviary housing mainly Indonesian native birds, like the blue-eared lory, black-capped lory, Java peafowl, and western crowned pigeon. There is also a sign for Bornean treepie, fire-tufted barbet, flame-fronted barbet, Bali myna, and large fig parrot, but none can be seen.

After the walkthrough aviaries, there is park filled with aviaries and pond for a pair of black swan. The first two aviaries houses a pair or rhinoceros hornbill and red lory. After the black swan pond, there is a aviary housing a single black lory. Then there is a row of aviaries housing Java peafowl, a pair of Blyth's hornbill, a pair of wreathed hornbill, and another Java peafowl. After that, there is area in the park for different species for parrots, like sulphur-crested cockatoo, eclectus parrot, palm cockatoo, Tanimbar corella, salmon-crested cockatoo, and blue-and-yellow/red-and-green macaw. Then, I go to a smaller walkthrough aviary housing two species for hornbills, wreathed and oriental pied. After the hornbill aviary, I continue to the first aviary, back side, and saw other birds such as a male Indian peafowl, a single Moluccan king parrot, and a couple of female Vosmaer's eclectus parrot. After exiting the bird park, I go to the cafe located at the lobby and wait for a hour until I can go to my room. I spend the rest of the day in my room, although I go outside of the resort and explored a little bit from 3 to 5 PM.

December 25th, 2020:
After eating breakfast at the resort's restaurant, I prepared to go to Taman Safari Bogor. I arrived at the park at 9 AM and there is medical staffs in front of the park's iconic elephant tusks statue. The animals in the Safari Journey didn't changed that much. After passing through the leopard exhibit and a natural stream, there is a area with exhibits, no free roaming animals, with exhibits for Rothschild's giraffes, cougars, a single binturong, Sumatran and Malayan porcupines, and a single white-bellied sea eagle, the park's buffy fish owl exhibit is under renovation during my visit. Then there is a large grassy area with free roaming Ankole-Watusi and blue wildebeest, then two exhibits for pygmy hippopotamus on the left and Asian-clawed otter on the right. Continue to a area for the giraffes, which is a very large grassy exhibit for Rothschild's giraffe and free roaming Chapman's zebras, common elands, blackbucks, and chitals. Then continue to a area with free roaming red lechwes and llamas and exhibits at the left side of the road, three for lowland anoas, one for European bisons, and two for North Sulawesi babirusas. Continue to the carnivore area, which consisted of two drive-through exhibits, the North Africa themed African lion exhibit and Indian temple themed Bengal and white tiger exhibit. All two species is sleeping, but one white tiger is active.

Then continue to Africa Village, a Africa themed area of the Safari Journey. The area houses Southern white rhinoceros, nyala, free roaming Chapman's zebra and blue wildebeest, barbary sheep, and a beautiful wetland themed exhibit called "Africa Panorama" with Southern ostrich, defassa waterbuck, common hippopotamus, and a exhibit for saltwater crocodile. There is another drive-through carnivore area, the urban Sumatra themed Sumatran tiger exhibit and European castle themed Eurasian brown bear exhibit. Then continue to a exhibit with a bizarre mix of common impalas, four emus, and a single southern cassowary. Then there is a large exhibits for Bornean orangutans, also another exhibits for a single scimitar oryx, dusky pademelons, Javan banteng, capybaras, and Malayan sun bear, the same exhibit seen before but at the other side. The Safari Journey tour is finished, I planned to go to the other zones, like the Primate Center or the Panda Palace. I parked near a camel ride attraction and I planned to go to Panda Palace first.

I arrived at Royal Safari Garden and walk into my room while looking like I got pushed into a swimming pool, I then stayed in my room for the rest of the day.

Aight, I guess I got some time to finish this thread. Also, I notice there is a mistake in this thread, my visit to Taman Safari is actually on 24th December, not 25th. So I'm now going to talk about my visit in Royal Safari Garden and Cimory River Side on 25th December.
