Cloning Saber-tooth tigers ?

I'm disguisted. I'm not against the cloning of extinct animals, but before we start contemplate opening Jurassic Park, we really need to clone animals that still fill a niche in the modern ecosystem, who's extinction is a direct result of human activity. Eg - Monk Seal, dodo, golden Toad or Thylacline, or animals that are currently extremely endangered eg Javan Rhino, Gulf Porpoise and Giant Sable Antelope. Interesting news though, should it turn out to be true.

It's clearly a puma kitten with fangs photoshopped in (and rather badly, too). This is also from the same website that claimed earlier this year that scientists in Liverpool had cloned an Apatosaurus (the picture was actually a baby kangaroo).

I wanna know where they got a Mountain Tiger from!! Those things are even harder to find than a frozen sabre-tooth!

You'll find that there is a Riken Center for Development Biology but their website (which does show some interesting work) does not mention this amazing discovery.

And what species would develop with kittens that already have those teeth at that age? Ouch Mama!

Correct. This news post is fake.

A creature with 98% human DNA is a Chimpanzee even if this were/is real those 2% are pretty important

The closest living relatives of Saber tooth cats (Smilodon spp.) are actually Clouded leopards (Neofelis nebulosa) and belong to an extinct subfamily known as Machairodontinae

If those people really wanted to fool us, they should have done more research on felidae taxonomy and instead of saying Saber tooth tiger they should have said Smilodon or Saber tooth cat, but that still wont fool us because as DesertRhino150 said, that is clearly a Mountain lion (Puma concolor) cub with photoshopped fangs

So all I can say to the author of that article is Nice try dude but this myth has just been declared busted
