Edit:
I also forgot to mention that there was a sign up on the window of the old meerkat/hutia enclosure saying it was empty ready for refurbishment in February 2010 :D

Mee too! Not sure where the Cuban hutia are now.

Have the leopards moved in yet? Will Dende be going in with them until a new home is found for him or will he be housed elsewhere until he leaves?

No no leopards at the moment though it looks ready for them. The plan was to keep Dende and Milena together until Sayan has finished his quarintine period but this may have changed.

Could be. Dende was still there with Milena and Sayan was next to the buffy headed capuchins. Any idea anyone as to where Dende may be moved to?

Purely a guess but Cotswold WP have a fairly modern exibit that only house's one elderly male at present. If they have the space to keep them seperate then he could possibly go there. I can't see them moving a non breeding male out of the UK without good reason.

Cotswold may be going out of keeping Amur Leopard in the near future!!

Don't think this has been posted elsewhere, but apologies if it has. From Colchester's website:

A new addition to the Gelada family was born on the Wednesday 23rd December 2009. Whilst the baby is still very young it is holding on to it's mother tightly so keepers have not yet been able to sex or name it. Mum, Mena, and Dad, Junior, are being great parents and making sure the baby is healthy, well and warm!

Gelada’s are highly endangered so Colchester Zoo is pleased to be running such a successful breeding programme for this species as the Gelada breeding group has now risen to 8!

Will try to spot him/her at the weekend and get a photo hopefully.

My 6 year old daughter adopted Junior for Xmas and is therefore most excited by this news !
