Sad news, Jack Hanna has been diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease and its been progressing rapidly. As a result he will be retiring from public life. My thoughts a definitely with Jack and his family. Its a cruel disease with only one outcome in the end. I hope he has more good days then bad for as long as possible. He sparked my love of animals so he will always hold a special place in my heart. I'm certain the Columbus Zoo community is devastated for him. He has been such a huge part of that place for so long that most staff there today were inspired to work with wildlife in some way thanks to him.
